The Review is part of the ‘Modernising the Civil Courts’ programme which generally is looking at the way in which the civil courts deliver their business with a view to outlining the areas where clear benefits could be made to the services offered through embracing new technology or by modernising systems. The aim of the Probate Business Review is to look at how the Probate Service works at present and to consider how service delivery could be improved – it is purely looking at the administrative side and not at any legal changes, e.g. not the extension of those entitled to apply for a Grant of Probate via the postal system.
